What is a convolutional neural network (CNN)?

A convolutional neural network (CNN) is a type of deep neural network that is commonly used in computer vision. CNNs are designed to automatically and adaptively learn spatial hierarchies of features from image data. They use a combination of convolutional layers, pooling layers, and fully connected layers to learn a hierarchical representation of the input data.
